熊本の城下町にある人気店「珈琲回廊」が、有楽町に新コンセプトのコーヒーショップをオープン。
熊本では姉妹店を含め複数店舗展開している同店ですが、東京進出は今回が初となります。
本店は築120年の町屋をリノベーションした趣ある店舗ですが、新店舗では内装と設備を一新。エスプレッソマシンは、バリスタの世界大会でも使用されている「テンペスタ」を導入。クオリティの高い味わいを安定して提供できるそう。
本店では和菓子とコーヒーのペアリングが人気だそうで、同店でも和菓子専門店「虎之介」の「よもぎ羊羹」などが味わえます。ホワイトチョコが練り込まれているんですが、これがとっても美味しくて…！将来的にテイクアウトできるようになれば、手土産にも喜ばれそうだなぁ、と思いました。

【I interviewed “Coffee Gallery,” the first directly managed Tokyo store of popular Kumamoto coffee shop “Coffee Kairo.”】
Coffee Kairo, a popular coffee shop in Kumamoto’s castle town, has opened a new concept coffee shop in Yurakucho of tokyo.
While the shop has several locations in Kumamoto, including sister stores, this marks its first foray into Tokyo.
The main store is a charming renovated a 120-year-old old-fashioned Japanese house, but the new location has been completely renovated, featuring a completely new interior and equipment.
The espresso machine is a Tempesta, the same one used in world barista competitions, ensuring a consistently high-quality flavor.
The main store’s popular pairing of Japanese sweets and coffee is evident, and the shop also serves items like the mugwort yokan (yokan bean paste) from the Japanese sweets specialty shop Toranosuke.
The white chocolate is incorporated into the yokan, and it’s absolutely delicious!
If takeout becomes available in the future, it would make a wonderful gift.
